On Sunday, Ireland dominated Italy with a 36-0 win at the Aviva Stadium, marking their second bonus point win in the Six Nations tournament and keeping their hopes of defending their grand slam title on track.
The hosts were up 19-0 at halftime with tries from Jack Crowley, Dan Sheehan, and Jack Conan. Sheehan secured the bonus point on 50 minutes as Italy struggled to keep up with Ireland’s strong ball carriers and fast-paced attack.
Although Ireland didn’t manage to fully capitalize on their lead, they did score additional tries from James Lowe and Calvin Nash. Even with Tommaso Menoncello sin binned, the game ended with a 36-0 win for Ireland.
With a 38-17 win in Paris in week one, Ireland now leads the standings with two points clear of England. They are in excellent form as they prepare to face Wales in two weeks’ time.
