Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang announced that the National Unity Ministry intends to broaden the Rukun Negara Exploration programme in 2024, with a specific emphasis on urban areas. The National Unity Minister mentioned that numerous activities have been scheduled under the programme to further enhance the understanding of Rukun Negara among Malaysians.
“The ministry is redoubling its efforts and initiatives to promote the appreciation of Rukun Negara through the Rukun Negara Exploration programme by implementing ‘Dialog Anak Muda’; ‘Ekspresi Rukun Negara’; ‘Muzikal Eksplorasi Rukun Negara’; ‘Hero Impian Untuk Malaysia’; ‘Pameran Mini Rukun Negara’; ‘Kisah Kejayaan Malaysia Kita’; and ‘Kapsul Suara Anak Malaysia’,” he said during the launch of the “Bicara Negarawan Tun Dr Ismail Al-Haj” at Dewan Utama, Memorial Tun Hussein Onn here Wednesday (Nov 8).
He added that this is in accordance with the objectives outlined in the National Unity Policy, which aims to create a national identity with a sense of self, patriotism, compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and responsibility.
Aaron also explained that the programme, themed “Negarawan Berintegriti (Statesman with Integrity)” and organized by the National Unity Ministry through the National Archives of Malaysia, aims to convey historical information to the community about the type of statesman the late Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman was.
He noted that the Rukun Negara, a national philosophy aimed at fostering racial unity in the country, was Dr Ismail’s legacy to the Malaysian people during his involvement in the National Operations Council (Mageran).
Aaron emphasized that the resoluteness and integrity displayed by Dr Ismail in leading the country should be a model for society, particularly the younger generation.
“Having strong integrity can help individuals address social issues, embezzlement, and abuse of power, ultimately leading to the creation of a united and respectful Madani society, regardless of race, religion, and culture,” he said. – Bernama
