KYIV (Reuters) – Russia carried out drone attacks on various parts of northern, central, and western Ukraine early on Saturday, causing damage to civilian infrastructure in at least two regions, confirmed Ukrainian authorities.
The Kyiv air force stated that out of the 17 Shahed drones made by Iran that were launched, the military successfully shot down 15 of them. These attacks are part of Moscow’s ongoing campaign of regular air strikes against Ukraine.
According to the deputy governor of the western Khmelnytskyi region, two individuals were wounded, and a blast wave caused damage to several buildings. In the central Zhytomyr region, Governor Vitaliy Bunechko reported that Russian forces targeted an unspecified infrastructure facility, and an evaluation of the damages is still ongoing.
At present, there have been no additional reports of casualties or damages.
Serving as part of its full-scale invasion initiated in February 2022, Russia has been utilizing drones and missiles to attack Ukrainian settlements that are far from the battle zone.
