MOSCOW (Reuters) – The Russian defense ministry stated that Russia’s air defense systems destroyed seven Ukraine-launched rockets and two drones over the southwestern region of Belgorod on Wednesday.
The ministry reported that the Ukrainian strike utilized Czech-made Vampire rockets, the same type used in deadly attacks on the city of Belgorod in late December.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced that two people had been injured as a result of the strike.
Belgorod and other regions bordering Ukraine have frequently been targeted by Ukrainian forces in the ongoing two-year war that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of the country.
Additionally, Ukraine has launched a series of attacks against Russian energy installations in recent weeks, and the war shows no signs of slowing down.
