In Arau, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin, the Chief Statistician, reassured the public that the Central Database Hub (Padu) managed by the National Digital Department (JDN) under the Prime Minister’s Department is secure and information is kept confidential to prevent leaks. He mentioned that in the case of any breach, Padu has a Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in place to manage it following established protocols.

During his visit to the Padu counter at Masjid Al Masyhoor Padang Siding, Mohd Uzir encouraged everyone to update their information on Padu regularly instead of waiting until the last minute. He emphasized that the data collected through Padu will assist the government in planning future programs and initiatives.

According to Mohd Uzir, a total of 1,006 Padu counters have been set up in Perlis, including collaborations with community organizations and Digital Economic Centres (PEDi) since January 2 until now. He also mentioned that mobile counters are available at 101 mosques, particularly on Fridays, to facilitate registrations, leading to an increase in the number of registered individuals in Perlis to 0.08 million as of March 22.

This initiative aims to streamline data collection processes and enhance public engagement with government programs and services. By maintaining updated information in Padu, individuals can contribute to efficient planning and decision-making by government agencies.

Furthermore, Mohd Uzir highlighted the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding personal data and ensuring the accuracy of records stored in Padu. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring and updates to prevent any potential security breaches or data compromises.

As part of the government’s commitment to improving digital infrastructure and enhancing data management capabilities, Padu serves as a centralized platform for storing and managing information securely. It plays a vital role in supporting evidence-based policy formulation and monitoring the impact of various government initiatives.

In conclusion, Mohd Uzir reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of information within Padu and appealed to the public to actively participate in updating their details to support the government’s efforts in long-term planning and development. By working together to ensure the integrity of data in Padu, individuals can contribute to shaping a more efficient and responsive governance system.

Overall, the establishment of Padu counters and the implementation of mobile registration services reflect the government’s dedication to enhancing public participation and leveraging technology for effective data management. This collaborative approach underscores the importance of data accuracy and security in driving sustainable development and advancing public service delivery.
