Officials are currently searching for a young girl who ran away from her home in Kg Dudar, Kota Belud, following a heated argument with her family. The 11-year-old reportedly stormed out of the house in anger on Sunday, July 9. The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations, Hamsa Isnurdini, stated that the girl sought refuge in the nearby forest. She briefly returned home at around 3.30am on Monday, July 10, but ran back into the woods upon discovering people at her house. The authorities were alerted to the missing girl at 7.54am on Monday.
Once relevant information about the girl’s last known location was gathered, a search operation was initiated. The team, which includes the police and local villagers, is working tirelessly to locate her. In the meantime, the search for 13-year-old Mohd Hisham Iskandar Azli, who fell from a bridge in Tuaran on Saturday, July 8, continues into its third day. The search area has been expanded by the search and rescue teams, as there are still no signs of the missing teenager.
