SEGAMAT: In a tragic accident at KM164.8 of Jalan Johor Baru-Seremban (Sawah Baru) in Segamat, a 75-year-old man lost his life in a collision involving three vehicles. The incident occurred on Sunday (July 9) at 4.45pm, according to Segamat OCPD Supt Ahmad Zamry Marinsah. He explained that the victim was traveling from Chaah to Segamat when he lost control of his vehicle, veering into the opposite lane. The man’s vehicle first hit the back of another car before colliding head-on with a four-wheel drive. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the drivers of the other vehicles escaped unscathed. Supt Ahmad Zamry urged any witnesses to come forward and aid the investigation into the accident.
At KM133 of Jalan Johor Baru-Seremban in Chaah, a 36-year-old man met a fatal accident when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle. The incident took place on Sunday at 11pm when the motorcyclist lost control and ended up in the wrong lane. Supt Ahmad Zamry confirmed that the motorcyclist crashed into a car driven by a 25-year-old man who was heading towards Segamat. Thankfully, the driver of the car only sustained minor injuries. Both accidents are now under investigation, with charges being considered under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987, related to causing death due to reckless or dangerous driving.
