SIBU: A man has been sentenced to 20 years in jail on two counts of sexual offences, including raping his teenage daughter.
The 45-year-old man pleaded guilty on Thursday (Oct 10) and was also ordered by Sessions judge Musyiri Peet to be given four strokes of the cane.
In the first charge under Section 376 of the Penal Code, the accused had at about 12.30am on Jan 1, at a house in Kanowit, raped his 16-year-old daughter.
For the second charge framed under Section 14(A) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, he had touched the same victim in a sexual manner on Dec 24 last year.
Musyiri sentenced the accused to 10 years’ jail for each charge, with the prison terms to run concurrently.
