(Reuters) – Arsenal’s Kai Havertz scored a late winner to secure a 2-1 victory over Brentford, propelling Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table. Manchester United also boosted their top-four hopes with a 2-0 win against Everton.

Arsenal now have 64 points after 28 games, but Liverpool or Manchester City could surpass them if they win their upcoming match at Anfield. Liverpool is currently in second place with 63 points, followed by City with 62 points.

Luton Town managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, while Bournemouth staged a comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United. Wolverhampton Wanderers also secured a 2-1 win over Fulham.

Arsenal achieved their eighth consecutive league victory, with Havertz scoring in his fourth consecutive game to make up for a mistake by goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Declan Rice and Yoane Wissa also contributed to the scoring for Arsenal and Brentford, respectively.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford converted first-half penalties to secure a 2-0 win over Everton. The win helped United move closer to fourth-placed Aston Villa in the league standings.

Everton, on the other hand, continue to struggle with a winless streak of 11 games and are currently in 16th place with 25 points, just above the relegation zone.

Wolves defeated Fulham 2-1, thanks to goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and an own goal from Fulham’s Tom Cairney. The victory pushed Wolves up to eighth place in the league standings.

Crystal Palace initially took the lead against Luton with a goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta, but Luton equalized in stoppage time with a goal from Cauley Woodrow, securing an unlikely draw.

Sheffield United appeared to be heading for a win against Bournemouth, but Enes Unal’s equalizer in stoppage time denied them the victory. The draw was just enough for Sheffield United to move off the bottom of the table, climbing to 19th place.

Overall, the weekend’s matches provided several surprises and exciting moments in the Premier League, with teams vying for crucial points as the season progresses.
