(Reuters) – According to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, the club’s recent acquisitions during the close season have injected a fresh dynamic into the squad, propelling their teammates to reach new heights following their impressive 6-0 victory over Sheffield United in the Premier League on Monday.

Players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, who were signed from West Ham United and Chelsea respectively, contributed to Arsenal’s commanding win at Bramall Lane, which matched their biggest Premier League away victory.

The win marked Arsenal’s seventh consecutive league victory, positioning them third in the standings with 61 points, just two points behind leaders Liverpool.

When asked if the summer signings had played a crucial role in Arsenal hitting top form at the right moment, Arteta responded to reporters with confidence, stating, “Yes for sure.”

“Picking the right players who could bring something new to the squad that we previously lacked has been instrumental in elevating the performance of every player and enhancing the team’s dynamics and culture,” Arteta explained.

“While they have made significant contributions, we are aware that the most critical part of the season lies ahead, and we are prepared for the challenges that await us.”

Arteta also offered updates on the injuries of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, both of whom did not complete the full 90 minutes of the match.

“Saka was feeling a bit under the weather, and we wanted to provide Fabio Vieira with some minutes on the field,” stated Arteta.

He continued, “Furthermore, Gabi Martinelli sustained a minor foot injury, and we are monitoring his condition closely to determine his fitness.”

Arteta further revealed that Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Japan international, is on the verge of returning from a calf injury, adding depth to Arsenal’s defensive options.

Arsenal’s next challenge will be against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, where they will look to maintain their winning momentum.
