(Reuters) – Ivory Coast captain Serge Aurier has made a move to Turkish Super Lig team Galatasaray from Premier League side Nottingham Forest, it was confirmed by both clubs on Friday.
The 31-year-old defender, who is currently on international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations, joined Forest in September 2022 and has played in 41 matches across all competitions. He has made 13 appearances so far this season.
Forest is currently in 16th place in the league standings, just two points above the relegation zone.
Champions Galatasaray announced that Aurier has signed with the club until the end of the season and a transfer fee of 100,000 euros ($107,850.00) will be paid to Forest.
“The player will be paid a net guarantee fee of 600,000 euros and a net signing fee of 150,000 euros for the 2023/2024 season,” the Istanbul club added.
Aurier will be joining former Tottenham Hotspur teammates Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele at Galatasaray.
