According to club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel will continue in his position for next week’s Bundesliga game despite the team’s recent loss at VfL Bochum. The 3-2 defeat was the team’s third straight loss across all competitions.

Dreesen told reporters, “Of course,” when asked if Tuchel would be in charge for the upcoming game against RB Leipzig. Dreesen also added, “I am not a fan of monstrous coach-backing statements,” suggesting that such support tends to fade quickly. He emphasized that Tuchel’s future is not currently being questioned.

He stressed the need for the team to focus on their upcoming matches, rather than dwelling on their recent losses. The Bavarians are currently out of the German Cup and are second in the league, trailing by eight points.

In addition to their Bundesliga struggles, Bayern lost their Champions League round-of-16 first leg at Lazio 1-0 on Wednesday. The team initially took the lead against Bochum but conceded two goals late in the first half after the game was interrupted by fans protesting against a planned foreign investment in the Bundesliga.

Dreesen commented, “That interruption threw us off our rhythm. Today it was a win of mentality over quality,” acknowledging the impact of the disruption on the team’s performance.

Notably, Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka expressed his frustration, likening their current run to a “horror movie that is not ending.” He emphasized the team’s disappointment in their recent performances, stating, “Everything is going against us at the moment.”

Goretzka also noted that while the team may have started well in their recent matches, their inability to maintain their performance is evident. Despite their efforts to rally in the end, the team continues to struggle.
