Real Madrid secured a closely contested victory over Barcelona in the LaLiga ‘El Clasico’ on Saturday, courtesy of two goals from top scorer Jude Bellingham.
Barcelona displayed an impressive display of energy and skill throughout the match, with midfielder Ilkay Gundogan making use of a defensive blunder by the visitors to open the scoring in the sixth minute.
However, Barcelona paid the price for their failure to convert their dominant performance into goals, as Bellingham capitalized on the two opportunities he had in the second half.
In the 68th minute, Bellingham unleashed an unstoppable strike from long range into the upper left corner, leveling the score. Then, in stoppage time, he secured the victory after receiving a pass from Luka Modric inside the box.
With this win, Real Madrid now sits at the top of the standings with 28 points, on par with Girona. Meanwhile, Barcelona currently holds the third position with 24 points.
