Everton secured a thrilling 3-2 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, with Idrissa Gueye scoring the winning goal four minutes from time. This victory also marked Everton’s fourth away win in five matches across all competitions.

Gueye’s goal, his first league goal since 2018, came from Abdoulaye Doucoure’s pass in the box, as he squeezed his shot into the corner of the net, giving Everton the lead for the third time in the game.

Vitaliy Mykolenko put Everton ahead within 52 seconds, but Eberechi Eze equalized with a penalty five minutes later. Doucoure then put Everton ahead again early in the second period, but Odsonne Edouard leveled the scores again after James Tarkowski let a high ball bounce in the penalty box.

The win propelled Everton to 14th place with 14 points, while Palace remained 12th in the table with 15 points from 12 matches.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson has not enjoyed a win against Everton since 2011, and his side is without a victory in their last four home games.

Despite having to defend for most of the second half, Everton has shown promising signs of recovery under manager Sean Dyche, with six wins and a draw in their last nine games leading into the international break.

Everton took the lead in the first minute when Jack Harrison’s cross was headed home by Mykolenko. Palace soon equalized when Eze was brought down in the box and converted the penalty. Everton once again went ahead in the second half with Doucoure’s goal, but Palace dominated possession and managed to level the scores.
