In Tuesday’s match, Inter Milan secured a 2-1 victory against Austrian champions Salzburg in the Champions League Group D, placing them at the top of the standings. Both Alexis Sanchez and Hakan Calhanoglu found the net for Inter, contributing to their team’s success.
Despite Salzburg’s dominance in the game, Inter managed to break the deadlock in the 19th minute when Sanchez received a pass inside the box and skillfully guided it into the far post, surprising their opponents.
Later on, Salzburg’s Oscar Gloukh achieved an equalizer just before the 60-minute mark. However, Calhanoglu swiftly reestablished Inter’s lead by converting a penalty kick seven minutes later, effectively solidifying their win.
Currently, Inter sits at seven points from three games in Group D. Salzburg occupies the third spot with three points while Real Sociedad holds second-place with four points. Real Sociedad is set to play against bottom-placed Benfica later on Tuesday.
