In a game that took place in Bournemouth, Liverpool emerged triumphant with a 4-0 win, extending their unbeaten league run to 14 games and moving five points clear at the top of the Premier League on Sunday.
The first half of the game was characterized by few goal-scoring opportunities, but Liverpool found their stride in the second half, with Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota both scoring twice to secure their victory.
Nunez broke the deadlock in the 49th minute after a well-executed passing play tore through Bournemouth’s defense. Jota, who played a pivotal role in the match, sealed Liverpool’s win with two clinical finishes in the 70th and 79th minutes.
Uruguayan Nunez wrapped up a dominant performance by Liverpool with his second goal in stoppage time.
As a result of this win, Liverpool now has 48 points from 21 games, with reigning champions Manchester City, Arsenal, and Aston Villa trailing behind on 43 points. Manchester City does have a game in hand over Juergen Klopp’s side.
On the other hand, Bournemouth occupies the 12th spot in the Premier League with 25 points.
