With just seven games remaining in the closely contested title race, both Liverpool and Arsenal have 71 points, with Arsenal edging ahead on goal difference. Defending champions Manchester City sit in third place with 70 points, while United find themselves in sixth position.
The match saw an early goal from Liverpool as Luis Diaz found the back of the net in the 23rd minute. Darwin Nunez provided a headed assist from a Dominik Szoboszlai corner, allowing Diaz to score with a close-range volley.
Manchester United equalized in the 50th minute through Bruno Fernandes, who scored a spectacular goal from the center circle after intercepting a loose pass from Liverpool. Fernandes’ goal marked his 50th league goal for United.
The home side took the lead in the 67th minute thanks to a stunning strike from Kobbie Mainoo, whose powerful shot from inside the 18-yard box sailed into the top corner of the net. The 18-year-old winger celebrated with the crowd by racing to the corner flag.
Liverpool were awarded a penalty late in the game after Harvey Elliott was brought down in the box, giving Salah the opportunity to convert from the spot and salvage a point for his team.
The draw at Old Trafford keeps the title race wide open, with Liverpool and Arsenal neck-and-neck at the top of the table. Both teams will be looking to maintain their form in the final stretch of the season to secure the coveted Premier League trophy.
