Liverpool dominated Toulouse with a 5-1 victory at Anfield in the Europa League, maintaining a flawless record at the midway point of the group stage.
Diogo Jota kicked off the scoring for Liverpool after just nine minutes, showcasing his skills by dribbling past four defenders before placing the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Toulouse quickly responded seven minutes later as Thijs Dallinga timed his run perfectly from the halfway line into the box, effortlessly slotting the ball home in the Group E encounter.
The rest of the match was all in favor of Liverpool. Wataru Endo regained the lead for Liverpool just past the 30-minute mark with a header. Four minutes later, Darwin Nunez extended their lead even further with a shot from a narrow angle, taking advantage of a rebound inside the box.
In the 65th minute, Nunez came close to scoring again, but his shot from the right side of the box hit the post after an impressive run. However, Ryan Gravenberch capitalized on the rebound, securing Liverpool’s fourth goal of the match.
In the dying moments of stoppage time, substitute Mohamed Salah completed the thrashing with a well-executed shot into the top corner from a closer range, leaving his marker bewildered.
Liverpool currently sit atop the group with a five-point lead over Union Saint Gilloise and Toulouse, both of whom have four points. Meanwhile, LASK remains at the bottom without a single point.
