AC Milan claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory against Empoli in Serie A, with goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Olivier Giroud, and Chaka Traore on Sunday.
After 11 minutes, Milan took the lead as Rafael Leao made a run past his defender and delivered a precise pass to Loftus-Cheek in the box, who calmly finished into the bottom corner.
The visitors extended their lead with Giroud converting from the penalty spot in the 31st minute after a handball by Empoli’s Youssef Maleh.
Traore then secured Milan’s third goal just before stoppage time from a swift counter-attack.
Milan currently holds third place in the standings with 39 points, trailing leaders Inter Milan by nine points and second-placed Juventus by four points. Juventus were set to play later on Sunday.
Empoli finds themselves second-from-bottom in the league with 13 points.
