(Reuters) – Napoli managed to secure a 4-2 victory over Monza in a thrilling match on Sunday, scoring three goals in just six minutes in the second half. This win keeps their slim hopes alive of finishing in the top four of Serie A. The defending champions are currently in seventh place with 48 points, trailing behind fourth-placed Bologna by 10 points. Monza, on the other hand, sit in 11th place with 42 points.

Napoli faces tough competition from AS Roma and Atalanta, who are in fifth and sixth place with 55 and 50 points respectively. Atalanta still have two games in hand as they prepare to take on Cagliari later on Sunday.

The match started with Milan Duric opening the scoring for Monza nine minutes into the game, but Napoli quickly responded in the second half. Victor Osimhen equalized with a powerful header, followed by a stunning volley from Matteo Politano to give Napoli the lead. Piotr Zielinski then extended their advantage with a long-range strike before Andrea Colpani pulled one back for Monza.

Giacomo Raspadori sealed the victory for Napoli with a fourth goal, coming just a minute after being substituted onto the field. The match was filled with excitement as five goals were scored within 13 minutes under the sunny skies at the Stadio Brianteo.

Napoli’s Juan Jesus was outmaneuvered by Duric for the opening goal, while Monza’s goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio put on a solid performance to keep his team in the lead at halftime. The second half proved to be a goal fest, with both teams showcasing their attacking prowess.
