Paris St Germain dominated AS Monaco in a 5-2 victory, with five different scorers contributing to their win and strengthening their lead in Ligue 1.
The goals came from Goncalo Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, and Randal Kolo Muani, while Takumi Minamino and Folarin Balogun scored for Monaco.
PSG’s impressive performance moved them to 30 points, securing a four-point lead over second-placed Nice. Monaco currently sits in third place with 24 points.
Luis Enrique, PSG’s coach, expressed satisfaction with the team’s attitude after the international break and emphasized the difficulty of preparing for a match of this level.
PSG took the lead in the 18th minute with a goal from Ramos, but Minamino equalized for Monaco just four minutes later. However, Mbappe restored PSG’s lead with a penalty in the 39th minute, adding to his tally as Ligue 1’s top scorer with 14 goals this season.
Dembele and Vitinha further extended PSG’s lead with goals in the second half, while Balogun managed to pull one back for Monaco. Kolo Muani then completed the rout in stoppage time.
Luis Enrique praised goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s exceptional season and expressed his delight with his performance in the match.
PSG’s next match is against Champions League Group F opponents Newcastle United on Tuesday.
