(Reuters) – The Premier League standings are incredibly tight, with the top three clubs separated by just one point. This close competition is exciting for fans and players alike, as it pushes teams to perform at their best. Manchester City defender Kyle Walker believes that this close race should serve as motivation for his team to aim for a fourth league title.
After a recent draw at Anfield, City came away with one point, allowing Arsenal to move to the top of the table and Liverpool to secure second place on goal difference. City currently sits in third place with 63 points, just one point behind the top two teams. With 10 games left to play, this season is shaping up to be the closest title race since 2014.
“It’s great for the League to have three teams so close at the top of their game with great players. It’s a great spectacle,” Walker remarked about the intense competition. He emphasized the importance of City continuing to fight until the end of the season, as they aim to achieve something no other team has done – win four league titles in a row.
Next up for City is a FA Cup quarter final match against Newcastle United on Saturday, followed by a crucial showdown with title rivals Arsenal at the Etihad stadium on March 31 after the international break.
