HULU LANGAT: Former Semenyih assemblyman Datuk Johan Abdul Aziz from Barisan Nasional emerged victorious in the Dusun Tua seat by securing a majority of 3,014 votes against candidates from Perikatan Nasional and Muda.
Johan secured 26,755 votes, while Perikatan’s Azhar received 23,741 votes and Muda’s Al Hafiz lagged behind with 3,110 votes.
Rather than issuing a lengthy official statement, Johan conveyed his gratitude in a video where he was seen smiling while on his way to the vote counting centre at SMA Batu 10.
The video was accompanied by a simple caption that read, “Thank you, Dusun Tua”.
Johan is a familiar figure in Dusun Tua as he dedicated nearly two months to organizing the distribution of cleaning machinery and providing food assistance to victims in the aftermath of the 2021 floods.
