GEORGE TOWN: Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is slated to be sworn in for his second term as the head of state at 9.30am on Sunday (Aug 13).
He will be sworn in and appointed Chief Minister at Seri Mutiara, the governor’s official residence here in Penang.
Chow announced a two-thirds majority win for the unity coalition in Penang on Saturday (Aug 12) night.
Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak will hand over the letter of appointment to Chow before he is sworn in for the second time.
Chow was elected Chief Minister in 2018 and now will begin his second term.
On Saturday (Aug 12) the state Pakatan Harapan chairman said the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional unity coalition has won a total of 29 out of 40 seats in the state.
