KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has disclosed that seat allocations for the upcoming state polls are nearly finalized among unity government component parties. According to the Pakatan Harapan chairman, there are only one or two seats left to be decided. “It’s almost finalised. We will announce our candidates soon,” he stated during a press conference held after chairing the Unity Government Leadership Consultative Council Meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn on Tuesday (July 11).
On the other hand, Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed that the coalition’s candidates would be announced on July 21. “It will be for all candidates contesting in the coming state elections,” added the Deputy Prime Minister during the same press conference.
The six states scheduled for polls on August 12 will witness nominations taking place on July 29 and early voting on August 8.
