PETALING JAYA: PPB Properties, the developer of Megah Rise Mall, is conducting a structural assessment of the area affected by the ceiling collapse on Saturday (Oct 28).
PPB Properties CEO Low Eng Hooi stated that a team of consultants has been engaged to perform a comprehensive structural assessment and carry out necessary repairs and reinforcements. Ensuring public safety is their utmost priority.
Low added that rigorous safety measures will be implemented to protect the community and prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
The developer is fully cooperating with relevant authorities to manage the situation promptly. The affected area has been evacuated and the debris has been cleared.
In a press release on Saturday, Low emphasized that the safety and well-being of customers, tenants, and staff are always their top priority. Immediate measures were taken to ensure the safety of everyone present during the incident.
Low also mentioned that all other areas of the Megah Rise Mall are still operational.
The incident occurred after a period of strong winds and heavy rainfall at around 3pm. The three victims have already received the necessary medical attention.
Low expressed sympathy for those affected by the incident and offered apologies for any inconvenience caused. He also appreciated their understanding and cooperation.
