PETALING JAYA: The 46-year-old local man detained in connection with a knife attack that left two women injured, has been remanded for seven days.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja’afar said the suspect was remanded along with a 55-year-old male friend after they were brought to a Magistrate’s Court here on Tuesday (Aug 13).
“The duo was arrested at the friend’s home in Kajang at about 1.45am.
“We are investigating under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder,” he said when contacted.

ACP Shahrulnizam said the two victims, one of them the headmistress of a religious school in Kelana Jaya and the other a mobile phone dealer, did not know the main suspect.
“We are still investigating the motive behind the attack,” he said.
Both victims have since been discharged from Hospital Shah Alam.

It was reported that the two women were injured after being stabbed by a man armed with a “Rambo”-style survival knife at 1.45pm on Friday (Aug 9).
The incident occurred in a women’s restroom near a religious school and surau.
CCTV footage from a house near the crime scene showed the alleged assailant fleeing in a car.
Police were able to obtain the car registration number from the footage.
