A man was taken into custody on suspicion of issuing a threat against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim via social media, as stated by Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh.
The 43-year-old individual was apprehended at around 10pm on Thursday at his residence in Kulim, with five police reports filed across the state. Reports were made in Kampung Tanjung, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu, and Kulim. The time of the first report was 5:33pm at Kampung Tanjung police station in Padang Terap, according to Fisol.
The suspect, who works as a teacher at a school in Kulim, will be detained for a period of four days, as announced by Fisol during a press conference on Friday.
Fisol said: “The first report was lodged at 5.33pm at Kampung Tanjung police station in Padang Terap. Reports were also lodged in Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu and Kulim.” he said at a press conference here on Friday (Dec 1).
Fisol said the suspect, who is a teacher at a school in Kulim, would be remanded for four days. – Bernama
