Sarawak’s civil servants will receive a two-month bonus before the end of the year, according to Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. The bonus will benefit around 28,000 state civil servants, including employees of state statutory bodies and local authorities. In his winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly on Wednesday (Nov 29), Abang Johari expressed his gratitude to the state civil servants and acknowledged their contribution to the people’s wellbeing. The bonus payment will involve a total sum of RM172mil.

In addition to the bonus for state civil servants, Abang Johari also announced a bonus of RM600 for Federal civil servants in Sarawak. This bonus will be paid to about 130,000 Federal civil servants, including uniform and security personnel, early next year, involving a sum amounting to RM78mil.

The Premier emphasized that the Sarawak government greatly appreciates the contribution of state and Federal civil servants who have worked alongside them and contributed to the state’s socioeconomic development this year.

Abang Johari’s announcement of the bonuses demonstrates the government’s recognition and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of civil servants at both the state and Federal levels. This move also serves as a gesture of gratitude for their efforts in improving the wellbeing and development of Sarawak.

This bonus provides financial relief and acknowledgement of the efforts of civil servants as they continue to play a vital role in the state’s progress and development. The bonus also serves as a form of encouragement and motivation for civil servants to continue carrying out their duties with dedication and commitment.

The bonuses also reinforce the government’s commitment to recognize and appreciate the contributions of all civil servants, regardless of their employment at the state or Federal level.

This news is likely to be well received by civil servants in Sarawak, who will appreciate the government’s recognition of their hard work and commitment. It also serves as a boost to morale and motivation as they continue to dedicate themselves to public service in their respective roles. Overall, the announcement of the bonuses is a positive and uplifting development for civil servants in Sarawak.
