PETALING JAYA: Independent men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani have defeated Indonesia’s Shohibul Fikri-Daniel Marthin to make the final of the China Open.

World No. 12 Sze Fei-Izzuddin had lost to the Indoensians in the second round of the Hong Kong Open just a week ago but played brilliantly to beat the latter 21-14, 24-22 in 43 minutes in the last four at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou on Saturday (Sept 21).

The Malaysians have now reached their third final this year after finishing runners-up in the Asian Championships in April and capturing the Japan Open last month.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will take on either world No. 23 teammates Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi or world No. 7 homesters He Jiting-Ren Xiangyu for what will be their biggest title in their careers on Sunday (Sept 22).
