    Tech companies show off gadgets from robot masseuses to flying cars at CES 2024

    LAS VEGAS: Welcome to CES 2024. The Consumer Technology Association is expected to bring around 130,000 attendees and over 4,000 exhibitors to Las Vegas for the multi-day trade event. The latest advances and gadgets across personal tech, transportation, health care, sustainability, and more will be on display, with increasing uses of artificial intelligence prevalent throughout the event.

    The Associated Press plans to keep an updated report of everything interesting from the CES floor, from the newest announcements to the quirkiest smart gadgets.

    Gyroglove works to help those with hand tremors

    Roberta Wilson-Garrett, diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease six years ago, found it difficult to manage her tremors. GyroGear, a Boston-based medical tech startup, introduced a hand-stabilising glove at CES 2024 to help people like Wilson-Garrett regain control of their lives.

    The GyroGlove is now available for US$5,899 (RM27,383).

    Advancing AI with fortune telling

    SK Group showcased an AI Fortune Teller at CES 2024, powered by high-bandwidth memory technology that claims to predict users’ fortunes by reading their emotions. This is to exhibit SK’s latest tech and sustainability advances at the Las Vegas show.

    Hyundai’s new flying taxi concept lands at CES

    The S-A2, a new flying taxi concept by Hyundai, debuted at CES 2024. The vehicle is envisioned as a commuter solution for urban areas with heavy traffic, and Hyundai claims it can cruise at 120 mph at a 1,500-foot altitude while operating quietly.

    Gaming accessibility for inclusion

    CES 2024 also featured a panel on “The Evolution of Accessible Gaming,” with a focus on accessible gaming in the industry. A speaker at the panel discussed how accessibility features in gaming helped him continue gaming after an accident that left him unable to use his fingers.

    Your own personal robotic masseuse

    French company Capsix Robotics introduced iYU, an AI-assisted massage robot at CES 2024. The robot performs a real-time body scan and recommends the best kind of massage technique for the user.

    Clicks Technologies’ iPhone keyboard, showcased at CES 2024, is aimed at iPhone users with dexterity or accessibility issues, the younger generation looking to stand out, and people who miss the previous smartphone keyboards.

    Getting your voice back

    Dutch startup Whispp aims to help people suffering from vocal impairments speak again in their natural voices using AI technology. The startup launched an AI-powered assistive speech and phone-calling app at CES 2024.

    At the Samsung CES booth, Martha Stewart used the company’s SmartThings technology to craft her “Martha-tini” and smashed potatoes. She also shared how she first got involved in the tech culture scene.
