    Teenage boy missing, feared drowned in Rompin

    A teenage boy, Mohd Iman Daniel Azri, 14, from Felda Keratong 4, Rompin, is missing and feared drowned while searching for mussels in Sungai Lubuk Batu, Kota Bahagia in Rompin on Thursday (Aug 24), according to Rompin district police chief DSP Mohd Azahari Mukhtar.

    The incident was reported to the police at 5.30pm. The victim’s friend informed authorities that Mohd Iman Daniel Azri was swept away by currents during his search for mussels in the river.

    In response to the incident, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was conducted by the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Civil Defence Force (APM), and local villagers. However, the SAR operation was called off at 8.30pm and will resume tomorrow, as stated by DSP Mohd Azahari.

    The authorities are currently working together to locate the missing teenager. The SAR operation involves the efforts of the JBPM, APM, and the local community. The search has been temporarily suspended for the night and will continue the following day.

    The teenager’s family and the community are desperate to find him and have expressed their concern over his safety. The search and rescue teams are doing their best to locate Mohd Iman Daniel Azri and ensure his well-being.
