Last week, online orders for three Model Y variants opened, and the launch event took place yesterday at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

The base model, rear-wheel-drive standard range Model Y, starts at RM199,000. It offers a maximum range of 430km, a top speed of 217kph, and goes from 0 to 100kph in 6.9 seconds.

For additional range and faster acceleration, there is the long-range all-wheel-drive Model Y, starting at RM246,000, with a range of 533km and 0 to 100kph in five seconds.

Those seeking more power can choose the all-wheel drive Performance Model Y, starting at RM288,000. It has a top speed of 250kph and accelerates from 0 to 100kph in just 3.7 seconds, although the estimated maximum range is lower at 514km.

Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving features can be added at an additional cost of RM16,000 and RM32,000, respectively.

The Tesla showcase at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur will continue until Oct 21, allowing interested individuals to have a hands-on experience with the Model Y.

Orders for the Model Y are currently being accepted through Tesla’s online configurator and at the showcase, with delivery expected in early 2024.
