PETALING JAYA: The titanic clash between Spain and Germany saw the most number of responses in a series of ‘Think you know your football’ polls ran online in conjunction with Euro 2024.
A total of 266 readers answered the poll on which team would win in the game while there were over 1,100 views alone.
Around 55% of those who responded said Germany would win – which they did not – while 45% rightly predicted that Spain would.
Spain won the game 2-1, sending La Roja into the semi-final with France, and subsequently into the final from which they emerged champions early Monday morning (July 15).
However, it is the game between Netherlands and England on July 11, which saw the most views with over 1,700 page views.
Over half of the 194 readers who responded – 55% – predicted England to win, which they did to clinch their berth in the final at Berlin.
For the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England, the number of readers who predicted for Spain to win only edged over those for England at 53% out of the 180 answers.
A total of 10 polls were run between June 21 and July 11: Italy vs Spain, France vs Netherlands, Germany vs Denmark, Slovakia vs England, France vs Belgium, Germany vs Spain,England vs Switzerland, Spain vs France, England vs Netherlands and Spain vs England.
