Mindanao State University expressed deep sadness and shock at the act of violence that took place during a religious gathering. The university also strongly condemned the senseless and horrific act in a statement on Facebook.
Marawi’s Mindanao State University, a city besieged by pro-Islamic State militants in 2017, has announced the suspension of classes until further notice in the wake of the tragic incident. According to CNN Philippines and Edge Davao media agency on Facebook, three people have been reported dead and nine others wounded, as stated by the regional police office.
