A total of 24 houses with 74 residents were severely damaged during a thunderstorm that occurred in the Air Putih sub-district of Pendang on the evening of November 1st.

Lieutenant Yuslina Yusoff, an officer from the Pendang district Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), reported that the incident took place at around 4:30 pm. The roofs of the houses in Taman Sri Delima and Jalan Jenun were blown away as a result of the strong winds.

Upon receiving the complaint, APM personnel immediately responded and arrived at the location. They discovered a total of 72 victims in Taman Sri Delima and two victims in Kampung Pulau Machang.

No casualties were reported as a result of the incident, as confirmed by Yuslina in a statement released on November 2nd.

Yuslina added that, for the time being, no temporary relief centers (PPS) were established, as the victims are currently seeking shelter with nearby relatives.
