He mentioned that he has been receiving many enquiries from the public about the ticket prices for the zoo.

He stated, “I can still say that the cost to enter Johor Zoo, which is the oldest zoo in Malaysia, is still very affordable… the cheapest for zoos not only in our country but also in Asia.”
When asked about the ticket prices, Mohd Jafni urged the public to wait for the official announcement regarding ticket prices for adults and children.
“It will be affordable for locals but for foreign visitors, we are looking at doubling the entry price,” he added, pointing out that the upgrading works at Johor Zoo have cost RM7 million.

Mohd Jafni further stated that the upgrading of the zoo, which has been open since 1928, will improve the comfort and security for both visitors and animals.
“After the first phase of upgrading, Johor Zoo will be cleaner and more organized. We are also looking at introducing new animals,” he added.
“After the first phase, we will immediately start work on the second phase, but the zoo’s operations will not be interrupted,” he concluded.
