Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has been named as the most trusted entity in Malaysia, beating over 100 other brands in a survey conducted by Ipsos Sdn Bhd.

The Trust Track study, which lasted for seven months starting in April 2023, found that TNB was also the most trusted brand in the utility industry, demonstrating the company’s success in establishing a strong relationship with Malaysians, according to a statement by TNB.

In a statement dated January 23, 2024, titled “Ipsos Trust Track 2023: The Most Trusted Corporations and Institutions in Malaysia,” Ipsos Malaysia announced the top five companies, with TNB claiming the first position, followed by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd, Shell, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and Petron.

Datuk Seri Baharin Din, TNB’s president and chief executive officer, expressed gratitude for the meaningful recognition, particularly as the company pursues an energy transition towards net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

“This trust and confidence cannot be bought. It comes from the community’s confidence and their stance towards TNB’s work practices and culture,” he said.

Baharin hopes that this trust will create new business opportunities for TNB, allowing the company to excel in sustainable energy solutions for customers and the public.

The survey included more than 7,000 respondents and covered over 100 corporations and institutions in Malaysia. The findings suggest that most of these companies were able to maintain customer trust and reputation in their respective industries last year.
