Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has announced that it will offer support to a young boy who was electrocuted at a substation in Bayan Lepas, Penang on Friday (Nov 17), including covering his medical costs.
Following the incident, TNB expressed its condolences and stated that it will ensure the 12-year-old boy receives the best treatment. TNB’s management representative met with the boy’s parents at the Penang General Hospital to provide support.
“The victim, who suffered burns, is being treated in the isolation room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), at the hospital. During the visit, Penang TNB head of Zone Asset Ir Anan Eyam also provided immediate advance assistance to the family of the victim to ease their burden,” TNB said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 18).
In response to the incident, TNB has collaborated with the police and the Energy Commission to provide assistance with the investigation. Additionally, TNB has established an internal investigation team to prioritize safety in line with the company’s operational policy.
As reported by the media, 12-year-old Mohd Dawisy Zarif Mohd Khairi suffered severe burns all over his body after being electrocuted.
