REMBAU: Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has been advised by his doctor not to go out campaigning for the next few days.

“To all voters and election machinery in the Rantau and Rembau constituencies, I apologise because I’ve been down with influenza. Bad cough and fever.

“The doctor has instructed me to not go out as I could spread it. I have been told to rest for two to three days,” the incumbent Rantau assemblyman said in an Instagram video on Wednesday (Aug 2) night.

He also instructed the election machinery to continue working, especially in areas where he had promised to visit.

“I hope to meet as many voters as possible when I am well again,” he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting, encouraged all Cabinet ministers and MPs being encouraged to undergo health screenings once a year.

She also said all Health Ministry staff would be vaccinated for influenza, with priority given to frontliners.
