PETALING JAYA: In preparation for the upcoming state elections, top leaders of the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) recently gathered for a retreat at Janda Baik. The retreat was attended by Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, as well as vice presidents and other key party leaders. Also present were party supreme council members and party executive committee members.
The retreat served as a platform for discussions regarding the party’s direction and strategies for the forthcoming state polls. Various workshops were held in conjunction with the retreat, providing opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Notably, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan, attended the retreat on the evening of July 8. His presence further highlighted the significance of the event.
As announced by the Election Commission, the six states will be holding elections on August 12. The nomination process is scheduled for July 29, followed by early voting on August 8.
