PETALING JAYA: Former Putrajaya Umno deputy chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, who was sacked from the party in January, is set to make a significant political move by joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia. This development marks a notable shift in Tun Faisal’s political affiliations.

Speaking about his impending membership, Tun Faisal expressed his optimism, stating, “If there is no obstacle, I will receive my membership from party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tonight in Negri Sembilan.” This statement emphasizes his eagerness to officially join the party and highlights the importance of the event.

In light of his dismissal from Umno, which occurred on Jan 31, Tun Faisal, known for being a vocal critic of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, has found newfound political alignment with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

While the exact reasons for Tun Faisal’s expulsion remain undisclosed, he hinted at allegations of flouting party rules. However, he refrained from sharing further details regarding the matter. Despite the nature of his termination, Tun Faisal asserts that he will not appeal against the decision.

Tun Faisal’s departure from Umno follows a series of expulsions that affected former leaders, including former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar. Both Khairy and Noh were sacked due to their violation of party discipline during the recent 15th General Election (GE15).

The news of Tun Faisal’s political move to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia holds significance as it showcases the continuous reconfiguration of political alliances and further underscores the evolving dynamics within the Malaysian political landscape.
