ANKARA (Reuters) – A staff member at Sweden’s honorary consulate in Izmir, Turkey, was shot and seriously injured in front of the consulate building, according to TRT state broadcaster. The incident occurred on Tuesday. The governor’s office in Izmir released a statement confirming that a Turkish citizen from the eastern province of Agri has been detained in relation to the shooting. The police are currently investigating the incident. The Swedish foreign ministry has not yet provided a comment on the incident.
