According to police, two drivers in a Washington city intentionally ran over pedestrians on the same night. The Seattle Police Department shared videos of the incidents that occurred on Nov 26 in the hopes of obtaining more information about the “callous crimes.”
In the first incident, a driver is seen “purposely hitting” a woman at 1.50am on North 107th Street, near Aurora Avenue North. Bystanders assisted the woman and she was carried into a vehicle and driven away, police said.
The incident was captured by a surveillance camera, and there was also video taken from a cellphone within the vehicle. The cellphone video captured someone urging the driver to “hit” the woman multiple times and laughing as they did so.
The second incident also occurred on Nov 26, and was recorded on a cellphone. The video shows passengers inside the vehicle laughing as they struck a pedestrian. The victim was walking in a bus lane when they were hit and thrown over the hood.
This incident took place in the 9600 block of Aurora Avenue North, though it is unclear what time the assault occurred.
Following each incident, the drivers fled the scene. Police have been unable to identify the victims, who were likely seriously injured by the impact. – The Charlotte Observer/Tribune News Service
