Two directors from Federal Government departments in Melaka have been apprehended by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicion of fabricating claims.
They were taken into custody at the Melaka MACC office at Alai at around 2.30pm on Monday (Feb 5).
An additional suspect, the director of a private company, was also taken into custody, according to a Melaka MACC spokesperson.
According to reports, the male director of a government department is alleged to have generated a false invoice for RM24,900 for the supply of items to an official program last year that were never actually delivered.
The company director was apprehended on suspicion of abetting him.
In a separate case, the female director of another department is reported to have filed a fraudulent claim for RM6,000 for the supply of items to her department, also last year.
Melaka MACC director Mohd Shahril Che Saad stated that more civil servants may be summoned to aid in the investigation of both directors.
Mohd Shahril also mentioned that all three individuals will be brought to the court complex on Tuesday (Feb 6) for a remand order and to help with the probe of their respective cases under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for providing false claims.
