Two more policemen have been taken into custody regarding a case of extortion totaling approximately RM35,000, according to the chief of police in Johor, Comm M. Kumar.
Comm Kumar announced that the two individuals, aged 29 and 37, were apprehended on February 9th, a Friday.
“The eight individuals previously arrested in relation to the incident were released on police bail on Friday, February 9th, pending further investigation,” Comm Kumar stated.
“Additionally, two other personnel were arrested on the same day to aid in the investigation and have been detained for two days commencing on Saturday, February 10th,” he added.
According to previous reports, a police inspector and seven personnel ranging from 20 to 50 years in age were arrested for allegedly extorting RM35,000.
These individuals were affiliated with the narcotics department at the Seri Alam police headquarters.
The eight previous suspects were on remand from February 6th until February 9th.
