Two individuals were apprehended at a roadblock in Pandan Indah for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The two suspects, one local and the other Pakistani, were detained during Ops Mabuk, an operation lasting from 9pm to 11pm on Saturday, February 10th.
According to Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail, the two men were held under Section 45A (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. They were then taken to Ampang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division where they underwent breathalyser tests.
Following the tests, ACP Mohd Azam disclosed that the blood alcohol levels of both individuals exceeded the legally permissible limit. He advised the public not to drive or ride while intoxicated, especially during the festive season, and emphasized adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
