SEREMBAN: Three individuals, including two soldiers, were charged with drug possession in the Rembau Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (Oct 17).
The accused are Mohd Azizan Mohd Yusof (28), Mohd Fanddi Kusnin (35), and Chean Boon Kok (28), a labourer. They all pleaded not guilty to the charges before Magistrate Kartini Kasran.
The charges state that on October 12, at approximately 3.30am, the three of them were found in possession of 6.2 grammes of methamphetamine in the living room of a house in Gemas.
They were charged under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, they could face up to five years in prison and whipping.
The court granted them bail at RM5,000 each with one surety and scheduled the mention of the case for November 30.
Deputy public prosecutor, Muhammad Amirul Noor Hashimi, presented the case while the accused were represented by lawyer Roslaili Alias from the National Legal Aid Foundation.
