NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar was almost flat in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.01 percent to 102.569 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.1016 U.S. dollars from 1.0999 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.2830 U.S. dollars from 1.2867 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 147.24 Japanese yen, higher than 146.68 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.8650 Swiss francs from 0.8640 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.3713 Canadian dollars from 1.3712 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 10.4595 Swedish kronor from 10.4530 Swedish kronor.
