NEW YORK, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.25 percent to 101.108 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.1104 U.S. dollars from 1.1076 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.3171 dollars from 1.3141 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 143.42 Japanese yen, lower than 143.89 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar declined to 0.8450 Swiss francs from 0.8471 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3508 Canadian dollars from 1.3519 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.2535 Swedish Kronor from 10.2886 Swedish Kronor.
